Short answer: Yes, New Zealanders can sign up at Vegastars and play in NZ$ from an NZD wallet. Getting money out is where it gets harder: the published approval time is about an hour, while Trustpilot (3.2/5 from 368 reviews, checked 2 October 2026) carries complaints of one- to two-week waits. The operator is Neptune Projects S.R.L., licensed by the Tobique Gaming Commission. It has no New Zealand licence, and none has been issued yet.

Vegastars is operated from outside New Zealand and does not hold a New Zealand licence. No online casino holds one yet: under the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026, the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) expects to start issuing up to 15 licences from early 2027.

Our reading of Vegastars starts at the withdrawal screen. The bonus and the lobby are judged by what they do to the time and the conditions between your NZ$ deposit and NZ$ back in your bank account. For New Zealanders, 1 December 2026 adds a second test. Figures were checked against Vegastars’ NZ pages, terms and Help Centre on 2 October 2026.

A deep NZD lobby and clearly published NZ$ bonus terms earn Vegastars 4.5/5; slow payouts in Trustpilot complaints cost it points.

Who runs Vegastars and where it stands in New Zealand

Clause 1.2 of the terms names the owner and operator: Neptune Projects S.R.L., a Costa Rican company listed in the Tobique Gaming Commission public register as a B2C licence holder. The commission licenses under the Tobique Gaming Act 2023. It belongs to the Tobique First Nation in New Brunswick and is neither a provincial nor a federal Canadian regulator.

People searching for “Vega Stars” or “Vegas Stars casino NZ” end up at the same brand. Its working site is vegastars12.com. The Help Centre says “Only trust vegastars12.com”, and vegastars.com redirects there.

The DIA says New Zealanders are not breaking the law by playing at overseas casinos that were already serving New Zealand before 1 May 2026, but it describes this as an unregulated activity with no guarantee of player safety. New Zealand player protections do not apply. From 1 December 2026, providers that have not applied for a New Zealand licence must stop serving New Zealand customers. Disputes start at [email protected] and can then go to EGIS FZCO, the resolution provider named in Vegastars’ terms; no New Zealand body handles them. Check the DIA’s information for players for where things stand now.

The NZ$6,000 welcome package, stage by stage

Your first three deposits share the Vegastars welcome bonus, each matched up to NZ$2,000: 100% with 50 free spins, then 150% with 50, then 200% with 25. The spins for stages one and two are on Gates of Olympus 1000, and stage three’s on Sugar Rush 1000. No code is involved. You pick the offer at the deposit step, from NZ$20, and the higher the match, the less you have to deposit to fill a stage.

Maxing out all three stages takes NZ$4,333.33 in deposits and brings NZ$6,000 in bonus money. What that bonus is worth comes down to three rules:

At an RTP of 96.50%, NZ$8,000 in bets costs NZ$280 on average over a long run, which is more than the NZ$100 bonus it clears. A single session can finish far from that figure in either direction. Over many sessions, though, the bonus mostly turns your deposit into more time at the reels.

Bonuses above €250 are credited only once you’re verified (work out the NZ$ figure on the day). Vegastars publishes no separate expiry for the welcome stages, and its general bonus rule gives 5 days from activation, so keep an eye on the timer. Any bonus can be declined in favour of cash play. The limit is one package per person, household, IP address, email, phone and payment method. 18+, T&Cs apply.

How long a Vegastars withdrawal takes in New Zealand

Vegastars’ Help Centre describes two stages. Most withdrawals are approved within about an hour, large ones within 24 hours. Skrill, card and crypto payouts then move in about 20 minutes, whereas bank transfers take 2–3 business days, or up to 5 under clause 12.5 of the terms. In the chart those times sit next to what recent complaints describe.

That last bar is the reason payouts get the closest look in our scoring. Complaints on Trustpilot from July and August 2026 describe waits of one to two weeks, often with requests for bank statements. The published rules point to where the time can go:

Take our worked example (hypothetical player, modelled on Vegastars’ published terms, checked October 2026; not a real transaction). A NZ$420 Visa withdrawal requested at 8.00pm on Friday 23 October is approved around 9.00pm and sent about 20 minutes later. By bank transfer, with Labour Day in between, the same money would land somewhere from Wednesday 28 October to Monday 2 November. Our Vegastars withdrawal time breakdown goes method by method and covers pending withdrawals too.

Getting started and paying in NZ$

If you want the first payout to go quickly, create a Vegastars account, pick the NZD wallet and finish verification before you deposit. Sumsub’s instant check averages under five minutes; a manual review can take up to 24 hours. The ID photo should be an original with all four corners visible. Proof of address can be a traditional bank statement, a utility bill or an official letter from the last three months, but Revolut and Wise statements aren’t accepted.

Deposits start at NZ$20 (Vegastars’ promotion pages allow NZ$15 for the first three, without a bonus) by Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller or 16 cryptocurrencies. Choose by the route back: Visa and the e-wallets receive payouts, crypto comes back in the same coin, and Mastercard can’t be paid out to in New Zealand. Vegastars operates internally in euros, so conversion can apply. If a card is declined, check with your bank: ANZ’s online-gambling switch in goMoney takes 48 hours to turn back on, and Westpac and Kiwibank offer gambling blocks.

Pokies and games in the NZ lobby

The Pokies filter in the NZ lobby counted 5,484 games on 2 October 2026, and the 37 studio pages added up to 6,068 titles including live tables. Pragmatic Play leads with 678, followed by Spinomenal (557), Play’n GO (435) and Playtech (345). The eight games below are all in the NZ lobby, and their RTPs come from the providers’ own pages.

Hacksaw Gaming also publishes lower operator versions of Le Bandit and Wanted Dead or a Wild, down to 88.36% and 88.42%, so the game’s info panel is where to confirm the RTP. Over NZ$8,000 of wagering, Le Bandit at 96.34% has a theoretical cost of NZ$292.80, and its 88.36% version NZ$931.20. Aviator, Spribe’s crash game, doesn’t count towards bonus wagering, because only pokies and live games do. Many slots can be opened as a free demo without logging in. Live tables can’t.

Live casino, VIP and the mobile site

Live casino

Evolution supplies 461 live titles across two connections, and Pragmatic Play Live adds its own tables. Four tables carry the brand name: Vegastars Blackjack, Vegastars VIP Blackjack, Vegastars Roulette and Vegastars Auto Mega Roulette. With a bonus running, live bets count 10%, so the NZ$8,000 of wagering from a NZ$100 first deposit would mean NZ$80,000 at the tables.

VIP and loyalty

There are 17 levels in 7 groups. Each $1 of real-money bets earns one point, and bets from the bonus balance earn nothing. Instant Cashback starts at the first level, weekly cashback at Bronze (20,000 points), and level-up rewards from $5 at Copper, shown in NZ$ under Rewards. Getting to Bronze means NZ$20,000 in bets, with a theoretical cost of NZ$700 at 96.50% RTP.

Mobile: a web app instead of a store download

You won’t find a native app in the phone stores. Vegastars works as a Progressive Web App: open vegastars12.com in Safari or Chrome and add it to your home screen, which gives full-screen access to the lobby, cashier and document upload. The offline screen is just a placeholder, so you need a connection to play.

What 1 December 2026 means for your balance

On 2 October 2026, when we last looked, the DIA had not announced results of the licence auction that began on 29 September, and it doesn’t disclose bidders. Whether Neptune Projects S.R.L. applied is not public. Applicants may keep serving New Zealand until their application is decided, no later than 1 June 2027. If you play in the meantime, plan around the cash-out:

Pros and cons for New Zealand players

  • Instant Cashback paid as real money with no wagering
  • Deposit, loss and wager limits, time-outs and self-exclusion up to permanent
What to watch
  • 40x applies to deposit plus bonus, so NZ$100 at stage one needs NZ$8,000 in bets
  • Trustpilot 3.2/5, with 2026 complaints of one- to two-week payouts
  • Mastercard payouts don't cover New Zealand
  • No New Zealand licence and no NZ player protections
  • Status after 1 December 2026 is not public
  • Wazdan and 3 Oaks games don't count towards wagering

Where to sign in and how to reach support

Use vegastars12.com and nothing else to sign in. Phishing clones copy the design, and the Help Centre has an article on spotting them. Support is by live chat (Vegastars says 24/7) and [email protected], with no phone line. On Trustpilot the chat often gets praise for quick answers.

Gambling help in New Zealand

Vegastars offers deposit, loss and wager limits (lowered at once, raised after 24 hours), time-outs from one day to three months and self-exclusion from three months to permanent. New Zealand doesn’t yet have a national self-exclusion register for online gambling, so blocking apps such as Gamban and Betblocker add a layer on your own devices.

Vegastars Casino NZ FAQ

What is Vegastars New Zealand?

It’s the en-NZ version of the Vegastars online casino at vegastars12.com: an NZD wallet, NZ$ bonus terms and 5,484 pokies (checked 2 October 2026), run from Costa Rica by Neptune Projects S.R.L.

Is Vegastars Casino available in New Zealand?

Yes. Clause 3.5 of the terms lists restricted countries, and New Zealand isn’t one of them. Playing isn’t an offence, although the DIA calls it unregulated, and service after 1 December 2026 depends on a licence application that hasn’t been made public.

Does Vegastars support New Zealand dollars?

Yes. You can hold an NZD wallet, and the NZ pages give bonus amounts in NZ$. Behind the scenes Vegastars operates in euros, so a conversion can apply. Each wallet holds one type of funds at a time.

What is the minimum deposit at Vegastars Casino?

NZ$20, which is also what any bonus requires. The promotion pages let the first three deposits start at NZ$15, but without a bonus. Maximums vary by payment method and are shown in the cashier.

How do I claim the Vegastars Casino welcome bonus?

Deposit NZ$20 or more and choose the welcome offer at the deposit step; there’s no code. Each of the first three deposits opens one stage, up to NZ$2,000 each, and wagering is 40x on deposit plus bonus. T&Cs apply.

Who owns Vegastars Casino?

Neptune Projects S.R.L., Costa Rica, company number 3-102-900308, according to clause 1.2 of the terms. It appears in the Tobique Gaming Commission register to 22 August 2027. The operator’s footer names Sultucia Ltd (Cyprus, HE 464112) as the company that processes payments.

How long does a Vegastars withdrawal take in New Zealand?

On Vegastars’ published times, approval takes about an hour (up to 24 hours for large sums), followed by about 20 minutes for Skrill, cards and crypto or 2–3 business days (up to 5) by bank transfer. Complaints on Trustpilot from July and August 2026 describe one to two weeks.

Is Vegastars legit for New Zealand players?

The operator is a registered company, and its Tobique licence showed as valid on 2 October 2026. There is no New Zealand licence, so NZ player protections don’t apply. Trustpilot rates it 3.2/5 from 368 reviews.

Is there a Vegastars app?

Not in the phone stores. The site installs as a Progressive Web App: in Safari or Chrome, add vegastars12.com to your home screen. Vegastars publishes no app file, so treat any download offered elsewhere as unofficial.

What happens to my Vegastars account after 1 December 2026?

That isn’t public yet. From that date, providers that haven’t applied for a licence must stop serving New Zealand, while applicants may carry on until a decision, no later than 1 June 2027. Vegastars’ terms and Help Centre, as read on 2 October 2026, say nothing about NZ balances.
