Privacy Policy
Short answer: this site keeps server logs for up to 30 days, sets no advertising cookies, never asks for identity documents or payment details, and answers access and correction requests within 20 working days. Anything you enter on the Vegastars casino site is handled by its operator, Neptune Projects S.R.L., under its own privacy policy.
This policy explains what personal information vegastars-casinos.nz handles, why we use it, where it is held, how long it is kept and what you can do about it. “We” and “us” mean the publisher of vegastars-casinos.nz, which covers the Vegastars online casino for readers in New Zealand. We do not run a casino, accept bets or payments, or create player accounts. The small amount of information we hold is handled in line with the Privacy Act 2020. The casino is a separate business, run by a different company.
Information we collect
Server and security logs
Each time your browser requests a page, our web server and our network provider, Cloudflare, record technical details of the request: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the page you came from, browser and device type (user agent) and the response code. We use these records to keep the site running, fix errors and block attacks and abusive bots. They are not used to profile individual readers.
Cookies and browser storage
A single local-storage key records that you closed the cookie notice. Cloudflare may also set short-lived security cookies. We use no advertising, retargeting or social media tracking cookies. Each item is listed in our cookie policy with its purpose and lifetime.
Anonymous usage statistics
We look at aggregated traffic figures (page views, referring websites, country-level location, device type) to decide which guides need updating. These figures reach us as totals, and we do not combine them with other information to identify anyone.
Emails you send us
If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it and the content of the message. We use it to reply to you, to correct a guide if you have reported an error, and to keep a record of the conversation. We do not add you to a mailing list or send marketing emails.
What we do not collect
The site has no sign-up forms, comments, newsletters or payment pages. We do not ask for identity documents, bank or card details, or casino logins. Please do not send any of these by email. If you do, we will delete them. Our advice on staying safe at Vegastars explains how to spot phishing pages that ask for such details.
Why we use it
- To deliver pages quickly and keep the site available.
- To protect the site, its readers and our providers from attacks, spam and fraud.
- To work out which content is useful and improve it.
- To answer questions, corrections and privacy requests sent by email.
- To meet legal obligations, including lawful requests from New Zealand authorities.
We do not sell personal information or share it with advertisers or data brokers. Nor do we obtain information about our readers from data brokers or other websites.
Who else handles it
A few service providers process information for us, and only to provide their service:
- Hosting provider: runs the server that stores the site and its access logs.
- Cloudflare: content delivery and security network in front of the server; sees the IP address and request details of every visit and may set security cookies.
- Google Fonts: supplies the site’s typeface, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when the font loads; Google states this data is not used for profiling or advertising.
- Email provider: stores messages sent to our address.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to prevent or lessen a serious threat to someone’s life, health or safety.
Where it is stored and how it is protected
Some of these providers operate outside New Zealand, so information may be processed overseas, including in the United States. When a provider stores or processes information on our behalf, we remain responsible for it under the Privacy Act 2020. Every page is served over HTTPS. Only the editorial team can access the site’s administration, and the software is kept up to date. If a privacy breach causes or is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and the people affected as soon as practicable, as the Act requires.
How long we keep it
- Server and security logs: up to 30 days, then deleted or overwritten, unless a specific entry is needed to investigate an attack. Cloudflare’s own logs follow Cloudflare’s retention rules.
- Aggregated statistics: as long as they are useful, because they contain no personal information.
- Emails: up to 12 months after the last message in a conversation.
- Privacy requests and our response: two years, so we can show how a request was handled.
- Cookie notice key: on your device until you clear your browser’s site data.
Data you give the Vegastars casino
Links to the casino open a website we do not control. It is operated by Neptune Projects S.R.L., a company registered in Costa Rica. What you enter there (registration details, date of birth, address, verification documents, deposit and withdrawal details, gaming history) is handled by the operator under its own privacy policy and terms. We cannot see your casino account, documents or transactions, and cannot correct or delete anything the operator holds. Which verification documents it asks for is explained in our guide to Vegastars KYC data.
Your click to the casino first goes through a link-tracking service, which records that the visit came from this site. Both that service and the operator can set their own cookies. Neither passes your name, email address, documents or payment details to us. The operator’s website lists [email protected] as its data protection contact (checked October 2026). Send requests about casino data there, and read the operator’s privacy policy before you register.
Your rights under the Privacy Act 2020
You can ask us:
- whether we hold personal information about you, and for access to it (information privacy principle 6);
- to correct information that is wrong or, if we do not agree to change it, to attach a statement of the correction you asked for (principle 7);
- to delete an email conversation you had with us, where we have no reason to keep it.
Send requests to [email protected]. To find the right records we may ask for the address you wrote from or, for log entries, your IP address with the date and approximate time of the visit. Entries older than 30 days may no longer exist. We will respond as soon as reasonably practicable and no later than 20 working days after receiving your request, free of charge. If we need more time, or refuse part of a request, we will tell you why within that period.
Making a complaint
Please contact us first and give us the chance to put things right. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. The Commissioner will not accept a complaint until you have tried to resolve it with the organisation, and asks for evidence that you did. Keep a copy of your email to us and of our reply.

Changes and contact
If we change how we handle information, for example by adding a cookie-based analytics tool or a contact form, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
