Vegastars Review NZ 2026: Our 4.5 Score and Where It Loses Points
Short answer: Our score is 4.5/5. Most of it comes from the lobby (5,484 pokies from 37 studios), NZ$ bonus terms set out in full and a withdrawal approval time published at about an hour. The payout record holds it back: Trustpilot sits at 3.2/5 from 368 reviews, and 32% of them are one-star (checked 2 October 2026).

A deep NZD lobby and clearly published NZ$ bonus terms earn Vegastars 4.5/5; slow payouts in Trustpilot complaints cost it points.
This Vegastars review scores the casino on 11 separate criteria and follows one modelled cash-out through the New Zealand calendar. After that come the player reports on Trustpilot and Casino Guru. Basic facts such as the operator, the offer and the payment methods are on our Vegastars Casino NZ overview; here we weigh them. Brand figures were checked on 2 October 2026 against Vegastars’ en-NZ pages, terms and Help Centre.
Vegastars rated on 11 criteria
All criteria carry equal weight. The eleven scores add up to 49.5, and 49.5 divided by 11 gives 4.5. We score payouts twice on purpose, once for the rules Vegastars publishes and again for what players say happened to their money. Folded into a single score, they would hide the gap between an approval published at about an hour and complaints of two-week waits.
| Criterion | Score | What earns or costs points |
|---|---|---|
| Games | 5.0 | 5,484 titles in the Vegastars pokies filter, 6,068 games from 37 studios, led by Pragmatic Play (678) |
| Live casino | 5.0 | 461 Evolution titles, Pragmatic Play Live and four branded tables among the Vegastars live dealer games |
| Welcome package | 4.5 | Up to NZ$6,000 + 125 free spins over three deposits from NZ$20, no code. A bonus above €250 waits for verification, and no expiry is published for the stages |
| Bonus terms | 4.0 | The Vegastars wagering requirements: 40x on deposit plus bonus, NZ$25 max bet, NZ$10,000 max win from bonus play. Clearly written, but Wazdan and 3 Oaks don’t count at all |
| Banking for NZ | 4.5 | NZD wallet, Visa, Mastercard, Skrill, Neteller, 16 cryptocurrencies. No Mastercard payouts to New Zealand; POLi is listed, but POLi’s own rules exclude unlicensed online casinos |
| Payout speed (published) | 4.5 | Approval in about an hour (up to 24 hours for large sums), then about 20 minutes for Skrill, cards and crypto; bank transfer 2–5 business days |
| Payout track record | 3.5 | One- to two-week waits in Trustpilot complaints from July and August 2026; 12 of the 20 newest reviews mention withdrawals |
| Support | 5.0 | Live chat (Vegastars says 24/7) and separate emails for support, complaints, responsible gambling and data; reviewers praise reply speed. No phone line |
| Mobile (PWA) | 4.5 | Progressive Web App installed from Safari or Chrome; no store app |
| Licence & transparency | 4.0 | Operator in the Tobique Gaming Commission register (B2C, valid to 22 August 2027). No New Zealand licence; the licence number appears only in the footer. Our check of is Vegastars legit walks through the registers |
| RG tools | 5.0 | Deposit, loss and wager limits, time-outs from one day to three months, and Vegastars self-exclusion up to permanent |
There is one more detail behind the licence score. The footer names the wrong statute, whereas the commission’s validator correctly cites the Tobique Gaming Act 2023. Welcome stages are 18+, with 40x wagering on deposit plus bonus. T&Cs apply.
How we checked Vegastars
We worked from the en-NZ pages at vegastars12.com, the general and bonus terms (cited by clause number), all 42 Help Centre articles, the Tobique Gaming Commission validator and register, and the Trustpilot profile for vegastars.com. Casino Guru’s complaint pages wouldn’t load from our connection, so we read them through search results. Unless stated otherwise, every figure dates from 2 October 2026.
When Vegastars’ own sources disagree, we use the stricter figure. Bank transfers take 2–3 business days according to the Help Centre and 3–5 under clause 12.5, so we plan on five. For proof of address the Help Centre allows documents up to six months old and the KYC policy three; we go with three. And where some NZ marketing copy promises quicker withdrawals than the Help Centre, it is the Help Centre’s hour that we score.
Some things stayed out of our reach. We couldn’t see the cashier of a logged-in New Zealand player, where exact method limits and any processing costs appear, or the expiry of each welcome stage and the value of a welcome free spin. No real deposit or withdrawal was made, so the case below is modelled and labelled as such.
Aroha’s first cash-out, step by step
Hypothetical player. Modelled on Vegastars’ published terms, checked October 2026 — not a real transaction.
Aroha K. is a Kiwibank customer in Tauranga who pays with a Visa debit card. Every time and rule below comes from Vegastars’ terms or Help Centre; the one invented figure is her balance after wagering.
| When (NZDT) | Step | What the published rules say | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mon 19 October 2026, 7.00pm | Signs up at vegastars12.com (en-NZ) and picks an NZD wallet | 18+, one account, no VPN; a wallet holds fiat or crypto, one type at a time | T&C 3.2, 9.1, 9.7 |
| 7.05pm | Verifies levels 1 and 2 via Sumsub: NZ driver licence photo with all four corners, plus her September Kiwibank statement, both on the Vegastars KYC documents list | Instant check under five minutes on average, so done around 7.10pm; a manual review takes up to 24 hours, to about 7.05pm Tuesday | Help Centre; verification screen |
| 7.15pm | Deposits NZ$100 by Visa, picks stage one at the deposit step, no code | Usually credited at once, occasionally within 24 hours. Balance: NZ$100 own money, NZ$100 bonus, 50 free spins on Gates of Olympus 1000 | Welcome offer page; Help Centre |
| From 7.15pm | Wagers | 40 × (NZ$100 + NZ$100) = NZ$8,000, plus 40x on free-spin winnings (spin value unpublished, so left out). Max NZ$25 a round. Gates of Olympus 1000 (RTP 96.50%) counts 100%, live 10%, Wazdan and 3 Oaks nothing | Welcome offer page; Bonus T&C 6.1–6.2 |
| To Sat 24 October | Paces the wagering | 8,000 spins at NZ$1, or at least 320 at NZ$25. No welcome expiry is published; the general rule of 5 days from activation runs to 7.15pm Saturday, or NZ$1,600 of bets a day | Bonus T&C 5.1 |
| Fri 23 October, 6.30pm | Finishes wagering on NZ$420 (illustrative, better than average) | Deposit wagered at least once, winnings under the NZ$10,000 cap, no bet over NZ$25, only counting pokies | T&C 10.8, 12.12 |
| Fri 23 October, 8.00pm | Requests NZ$420 to her Visa | Approval in about an hour (around 9.00pm), then the Visa payout in about 20 minutes (around 9.20pm). When it shows on her card is up to Kiwibank | Help Centre; T&C 12.3.1 |
What the timeline shows
Four days passed between sign-up and money leaving Vegastars, and almost all of that was wagering. On the published times, the casino’s own part of the cash-out comes to about 1 hour 20 minutes. The expensive part is the NZ$8,000 of bets. At 96.50% RTP their theoretical cost is NZ$280, nearly three times the NZ$100 bonus, so on an average run the NZ$200 balance runs out before the wagering is done. NZ$420 is therefore an above-average finish, picked to show the withdrawal end. One short session can scatter widely around that long-run average, up as well as down. 18+, T&Cs apply.

Three ways the same case changes
- She deposited by Mastercard. Clause 12.3.2 reserves Mastercard payouts for European countries on a list that leaves out New Zealand, so the NZ$420 goes by bank transfer: 2–3 business days, up to 5 under clause 12.5. Labour Day, Monday 26 October, isn’t a banking day, which makes Tuesday 27 October day one and Monday 2 November day five. The money arrives between Wednesday 28 October and Monday 2 November.
- She skipped verification. The request then waits for KYC, which takes under five minutes on average or up to 24 hours if the documents go to manual review. Larger sums can also trigger source-of-funds and liveness checks, and clause 9.9 blocks the account if the KYC team can’t get hold of her within two weeks of the request.
- The complaint version. Trustpilot’s one-star reviews from July and August 2026 describe waiting a week or two, along with requests for bank statements. Whether that would happen to Aroha we can’t say, so we show it next to the published timeline.
Run stage two the same way and a NZ$100 deposit brings NZ$150 plus 50 more spins, with NZ$10,000 to wager and a theoretical cost of NZ$350.
What players say in a typical Vegastars review
The Vegastars Trustpilot profile showed a TrustScore of 3.2 from 368 reviews on 2 October 2026, 180 of them posted in the previous 12 months. Vegastars claimed the profile in March 2025 and answers negative reviews there.
Half of the reviewers give five stars and close to a third give one, which leaves 18% for the three middle ratings. Search results also turn up Trustpilot pages for lookalike domains, rated 3 to 3.7, and older cached snippets of the vegastars.com profile at 3.5 or 3.7. Before quoting a score, check the domain and the live page.
The 20 newest reviews
The 20 most recent reviews are dated 20 May to 7 September 2026. By rating they split into twelve one-star, one two-star, three three-star and four five-star, with nobody giving four stars. Twelve mention withdrawals and six mention verification or documents. In this newest batch 60% are one-star, against 32% across the whole profile. Twenty reviews taken newest first make a small, non-random sample, but the recent tone is harsher than the headline score suggests.
What the complaints and the praise are about
- Withdrawal waits. A week to two weeks, where reviewers had expected 3–5 days; one counted 14 days, and another waited two weeks on a withdrawal under 1,000.
- Bank statements. Several Vegastars complaints describe a request for bank statements in the middle of a withdrawal.
- Games and wagering. Some reviewers report lag and error codes inside games, and others object to the 40x requirement.
- Support. Live chat collects most of the praise, for quick, polite answers that often come within minutes.
Only Vegastars has the data to say how common the long waits are. Our page on how long Vegastars withdrawals take puts each published time next to the reported ones.
Casino Guru: four complaints and how they ended
Casino Guru puts the Vegastars Safety Index at around 8.5 (High). We found four complaints on the site, all from Australian players and none from New Zealand. Its pages give dates in relative terms (“months ago”), so the only dates we quote are those stated in the complaints themselves.
| What the player reported | Amount | How it ended |
|---|---|---|
| Delayed withdrawal, then the account was closed | A$400 | Closed after the player stopped responding |
| Funds from bonus buys went missing | A$2,020 | Resolved, funds returned |
| Two delayed withdrawals | A$5,000 each | Closed after the player stopped responding |
| XRP withdrawal requested 15 December 2025, account verified 19 December | US$33,276 | Resolved, player paid |
Two of the four ended with the money paid. The other two stalled when the player went quiet, and those prove nothing in either direction. One more complainant wrote around the turn of 2025–26 that the site’s licence seal showed as invalid; when we opened the Tobique validator on 2 October 2026, it read VALID.
Where Vegastars earns its points
The lobby is the most obvious strength. Ten studios supply more than 190 games each, and the range goes from Pragmatic Play and Play’n GO to Hacksaw, Nolimit City, ELK Studios and NetEnt classics such as Starburst and Gonzo’s Quest. Many of the slots can be played as a free demo before you log in.
Live play is just as well stocked, with Evolution game shows (Crazy Time, Monopoly Live, Dream Catcher, Mega Ball), Pragmatic Play Live roulette and baccarat, and four tables under the brand’s own name, Vegastars VIP Blackjack and Vegastars Auto Mega Roulette among them.

The bonus rules include a worked example in NZ$: a NZ$500 deposit plus a NZ$500 bonus needs NZ$40,000 in bets. Any bonus can be declined, leaving you to play on cash with no wagering. Instant Cashback comes back as real money, free of wagering and without a code, although Vegastars doesn’t publish the percentage. Real-money bets also earn points in the Vegastars loyalty program, one for every $1, with weekly cashback from Bronze; bonus-balance bets earn none.
The limit tools are thorough. Lowering a limit takes effect at once and raising one takes 24 hours, and self-exclusion covers every brand under the same licence holder. Exclusions of six months or longer end only after a three-day pause and a documented confirmation.
The main downsides
- Wagering on deposit plus bonus. Taken to the maximum, NZ$4,333.33 in deposits brings NZ$6,000 in bonus and NZ$413,333.33 in required bets, which works out at a theoretical cost of NZ$14,466.67 at 96.50% RTP. Live bets count 10%, and Wazdan, 3 Oaks and parts of other studios’ catalogues don’t count at all.
- The route back for your money. Mastercard depositors have to use another payout method. Vegastars runs internally in euros, which means conversion can apply, and clause 10.8 allows it to pass on processing costs.
- Caps and fees. Vegastars’ terms set a $50,000 monthly withdrawal cap without stating the currency and split anything larger into monthly instalments; wins above $10,000 in a day trigger additional checks. Accounts with no login for 12 months are charged €10 a month (clause 14.1).
- No New Zealand licence. Vegastars is operated from outside New Zealand and does not hold a New Zealand licence. No online casino holds one yet: under the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026, the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) expects to start issuing up to 15 licences from early 2027.
The DIA says New Zealanders are not breaking the law by playing at overseas casinos that were already serving New Zealand before 1 May 2026, but it describes this as an unregulated activity with no guarantee of player safety. New Zealand player protections do not apply. From 1 December 2026, providers that have not applied for a New Zealand licence must stop serving New Zealand customers. Whether Neptune Projects S.R.L. is among the applicants hasn’t been made public; the latest is on the DIA’s page for players.
Who should skip Vegastars, and who it suits
How well Vegastars fits you comes down to your style of play and how soon you need your money back. Skip it if you:
- can’t absorb a payout wait of a week or two;
- hold only a Mastercard, with no Visa, e-wallet or crypto to receive a withdrawal;
- want disputes handled in New Zealand (complaints go to [email protected], then to EGIS FZCO, the resolution service in the terms);
- plan to clear a bonus on live tables;
- need a phone line for support.
It suits pokies players who verify before the first deposit, pay with Visa, Skrill or crypto, and either treat the welcome bonus as extra playing time or decline it. Those players get the parts of Vegastars that scored 5.0 here (games, live casino, support, limit tools), and they take on the payout risk knowing it is there.

Vegastars review FAQ
Are Vegastars reviews positive overall?
Mixed. Of the 368 Trustpilot reviews, half give five stars and 32% give one, which put the TrustScore at 3.2/5 on 2 October 2026. The newest ones lean negative, with 12 of the latest 20 at one star, mostly over withdrawals.
Is Vegastars a scam?
We found no sign of a fake operator. Neptune Projects S.R.L. is a registered Costa Rican company in the Tobique register, the validator read VALID on 2 October 2026, and two of four Casino Guru complaints ended with the player paid. The risks that do exist are slow payouts, the absence of NZ player protections and lookalike sites, so log in only at vegastars12.com.
Is Vegastars customer support reliable?
Going by reviewers, yes for quick answers: Trustpilot reviews keep praising the live chat, which Vegastars says runs 24/7. A fast reply doesn’t always move a stuck payout, though. Formal complaints go to [email protected] and then EGIS FZCO. Vegastars has no phone line.
Do players mention the Vegastars mobile app?
Not among the main themes we saw; those centre on withdrawals, verification and support. Vegastars has no store app and runs as a Progressive Web App added from Safari or Chrome, and our guide to Vegastars mobile covers the install. A store-listed app with a similar name belongs to a different product.
Why is your score higher than Trustpilot’s?
Withdrawals dominate the Trustpilot reviews (12 of the newest 20), while our 4.5 is an average of 11 criteria, two of them about payouts. Our payout track record score of 3.5 is close to Trustpilot’s 3.2, and the 5.0 scores for games, live casino, support and limit tools pull the average up.
How long does a Vegastars withdrawal take in New Zealand?
In our modelled case, Aroha asks for NZ$420 to her Visa at 8.00pm on a Friday; it is approved around 9.00pm and leaves Vegastars about 20 minutes later. Paid by bank transfer after a Mastercard deposit, it arrives by Monday 2 November, with the Labour Day holiday in between. Complaints from mid-2026 describe one to two weeks.
