Vegastars Bonus NZ: The NZ$6,000 Welcome Package in Wagering, Time and RTP
Short answer: Vegastars offers New Zealand players up to NZ$6,000 + 125 free spins over three deposits: 100%, 150% and 200%, each capped at NZ$2,000, with 50, 50 and 25 spins. Wagering is 40x the deposit plus the bonus, the maximum bet is NZ$25 a round, bonus play pays out no more than NZ$10,000, and each stage starts from a NZ$20 deposit. No code is needed.
Most of the work is in the turnover. A NZ$100 first deposit means NZ$8,000 of bets before bonus winnings can be withdrawn. 18+, T&Cs apply.
Work back from the withdrawal request and the welcome package becomes four questions: how much you must bet, how long the timer runs, what the house edge takes and which games don’t count. All figures are taken from Vegastars’ NZ promotions page, its Bonus Terms and its general terms and conditions, checked 2 October 2026. For the rest of the site, begin with our guide to the Vegastars casino for Kiwi players.
The three welcome stages at a glance
| Stage | Match | Bonus cap | Deposit that maxes it | Free spins | Spin game |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1st deposit | 100% | NZ$2,000 | NZ$2,000 | 50 | Gates of Olympus 1000 |
| 2nd deposit | 150% | NZ$2,000 | NZ$1,333.33 | 50 | Gates of Olympus 1000 |
| 3rd deposit | 200% | NZ$2,000 | NZ$1,000 | 25 | Sugar Rush 1000 |
| Total | NZ$6,000 | NZ$4,333.33 | 125 |
Because the match rate climbs while the cap stays at NZ$2,000, each stage reaches its ceiling with a smaller deposit. The amounts are given in NZD on Vegastars’ NZ promotions page. Spins from the first two stages, 100 in all, play on Gates of Olympus 1000, and the last 25 on Sugar Rush 1000. We don’t put a dollar value on the 125 spins, since Vegastars doesn’t publish what a welcome spin is worth.

Rules that apply to every stage
| Condition | Rule | Where Vegastars publishes it |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus wagering | 40x deposit plus bonus | Promotions and welcome-bonus pages |
| Free-spin winnings | 40x the amount won | Promotions page |
| Maximum bet with an active bonus | NZ$25 per round | Promotions and welcome-bonus pages |
| Maximum win from bonus play | NZ$10,000 | Promotions and welcome-bonus pages |
| Game contribution | Pokies 100%, live casino 10%, other games 0% | Bonus Terms 6.1–6.2 |
| Minimum qualifying deposit | NZ$20 | Promotions page; T&C 11.4 |
| Promo code | Not needed | Promotions page |
| Time limit | No separate expiry for the welcome stages; general bonus rule of 5 days from activation | Bonus Terms 5.1 |
| Limit per player | One package per person, household, IP address, email, phone and payment method | Bonus Terms 3.3 |
| Bonus above €250 | Credited only after verification | T&C 11.7 |
| Before any withdrawal | Deposit wagered at least once | T&C 10.8 and 12.12 |
| Loyalty points | None for bets made with bonus balance | Bonus Terms 6.4 |
Of these, the deposit rule is the easiest to overlook. It applies with or without a bonus: your own deposit has to be bet at least once before anything can be withdrawn.
How to claim the Vegastars welcome bonus
- Open an account. You must be 18 or over, hold one account only and play without a VPN. Choose the NZD wallet (a wallet holds one type of funds, fiat or crypto). The sign-up steps are laid out in order on our page on Vegastars registration.
- Verify before you deposit. Both Level 1 and Level 2 checks go through Sumsub: under five minutes on average when the check is instant, up to 24 hours when it’s manual. With Vegastars account verification done first, neither a stage worth more than €250 nor your first withdrawal gets held back.
- Deposit at least NZ$20. The promotion pages allow the first three deposits from NZ$15, but without a bonus, and T&C 11.4 puts the minimum at $20. Our Vegastars minimum deposit page sets the two figures side by side.
- Choose the stage at the deposit step. According to Vegastars, you claim the offer by making the qualifying deposit and following the claim step shown at that moment. No code is involved. TG50, the only code on the NZ promotions page, is for the Telegram spins instead, and our Vegastars promo code page covers those.
- Check the timer. When the bonus and spins land on your balance, look up the expiry in your account before planning any sessions.
The one-package rule is wide. A second claim from the same household, IP address, email, phone number or card doesn’t qualify, which matters for flatmates and couples who share a computer or a payment method.
How 40x wagering works
The multiplier is applied to the deposit and the bonus combined. Put NZ$100 into stage one and you get NZ$100 of bonus, a NZ$200 balance and a requirement of 40 × NZ$200 = NZ$8,000 in bets. The worked example on Vegastars’ own welcome page (NZ$500 deposit, NZ$500 bonus, NZ$40,000 to wager) uses the same formula. Set against the deposit alone, the requirement works out at 80 times the deposit on stage one, 100 times on stage two and 120 times on stage three, since the bonus makes up a bigger share at each step.
What counts towards the requirement
Pokies count in full. At the live casino at Vegastars a bet counts at 10%, which turns the same NZ$8,000 requirement into NZ$80,000 of live-table bets. Everything else, crash games such as Aviator included, stays playable while a bonus is active but leaves the requirement where it was. Some pokie studios and titles are excluded altogether, and the list appears further down.
The NZ$25 ceiling in spins
While the bonus is active, no round should go above NZ$25. Betting right at that ceiling, NZ$8,000 still takes a minimum of 320 spins. At NZ$1 a spin it takes 8,000.
How long you have
There’s no separate expiry published for the welcome stages. The general bonus rule in Bonus Terms 5.1 gives 5 days from activation, and the timer in your account is the figure that actually decides it. On 5 days, NZ$8,000 means NZ$1,600 of bets a day: roughly 1,600 spins at NZ$1, or 64 at NZ$25. Max out the first stage and the daily figure becomes NZ$32,000.
Free-spin winnings
Winnings from the 125 spins carry a 40x requirement of their own. Say the 50 stage-one spins return NZ$12: that adds another NZ$480 of bets on top of the deposit-plus-bonus requirement.
Wagering for NZ$20, NZ$100, NZ$500 and the maximum
Instead of a calculator, here is the full grid: four deposit sizes across the three stages, showing the bets needed, how many spins that is at the NZ$25 ceiling, the daily pace under the 5-day rule and the theoretical cost at 96.50% RTP. All amounts are in NZ$.
| Deposit | Stage | Bonus | Balance | 40x requirement | Spins at NZ$25 | Bets a day (5 days) | Cost at 96.50% RTP |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | 1 (100%) | 20 | 40 | 1,600 | 64 | 320 | 56.00 |
| 20 | 2 (150%) | 30 | 50 | 2,000 | 80 | 400 | 70.00 |
| 20 | 3 (200%) | 40 | 60 | 2,400 | 96 | 480 | 84.00 |
| 100 | 1 | 100 | 200 | 8,000 | 320 | 1,600 | 280.00 |
| 100 | 2 | 150 | 250 | 10,000 | 400 | 2,000 | 350.00 |
| 100 | 3 | 200 | 300 | 12,000 | 480 | 2,400 | 420.00 |
| 500 | 1 | 500 | 1,000 | 40,000 | 1,600 | 8,000 | 1,400.00 |
| 500 | 2 | 750 | 1,250 | 50,000 | 2,000 | 10,000 | 1,750.00 |
| 500 | 3 | 1,000 | 1,500 | 60,000 | 2,400 | 12,000 | 2,100.00 |
| 2,000 (max) | 1 | 2,000 | 4,000 | 160,000 | 6,400 | 32,000 | 5,600.00 |
| 1,333.33 (max) | 2 | 2,000 | 3,333.33 | 133,333.33 | 5,334 | 26,666.67 | 4,666.67 |
| 1,000 (max) | 3 | 2,000 | 3,000 | 120,000 | 4,800 | 24,000 | 4,200.00 |
Totalled over all three deposits, the four scenarios come out as follows.
| Scenario | You deposit | Bonus | Total wagering | Cost at 96.50% RTP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NZ$20 × 3 | NZ$60 | NZ$90 | NZ$6,000 | NZ$210.00 |
| NZ$100 × 3 | NZ$300 | NZ$450 | NZ$30,000 | NZ$1,050.00 |
| NZ$500 × 3 | NZ$1,500 | NZ$2,250 | NZ$150,000 | NZ$5,250.00 |
| Full package | NZ$4,333.33 | NZ$6,000 | NZ$413,333.33 | NZ$14,466.67 |
The cost column is a long-run average, and the house-edge section below shows where it comes from. Separately, any bonus worth more than €250 is credited only after verification. That threshold is set in euros, so check the NZ$ equivalent on the day; the NZ$750, NZ$1,000 and NZ$2,000 bonuses in the table are well above it.
A modelled first stage at NZ$100
Hypothetical player. Modelled on Vegastars’ published terms, checked October 2026 — not a real transaction.
At 7.15pm on Monday 19 October, Aroha K. from Tauranga deposits NZ$100 by Visa and takes stage one, which gives her NZ$100 of bonus and 50 spins on Gates of Olympus 1000. She now has NZ$8,000 to wager. Under the general 5-day rule her timer runs out at 7.15pm on Saturday 24 October, so she has to bet about NZ$1,600 a day. At 96.50%, that turnover carries an expected cost of NZ$280, more than the bonus itself. We have her finish on Friday 23 October with NZ$420, a result above the expected average that we chose to show the checks that come next: she has wagered her deposit at least once, the bonus win is under NZ$10,000, no round went over NZ$25 and every bet went on contributing pokies. With all four confirmed, she can put in a withdrawal request.

What the house edge does to a bonus
Every pokie has a margin built in. Pragmatic Play publishes an RTP of 96.50% for Gates of Olympus 1000, the game where the first 100 welcome spins land, so over a long run the house keeps 3.5%. Applied to the turnover, that gives NZ$8,000 × 3.5% = NZ$280, the average cost of clearing a NZ$100 bonus. On average, then, the NZ$200 balance is gone before the requirement is met. The same thing happens at every deposit size, because the bonus and the turnover both grow in step with the deposit.
Two caveats apply. First, this is an average over a very long run. Any one session can swing well above or below it, and that swing is the only way a requirement ever gets finished ahead. Second, RTP depends on which version of a game the casino runs. Hacksaw publishes Le Bandit at 96.34%, with operator variants as low as 88.36%; on the same NZ$8,000, the expected cost moves from NZ$292.80 to NZ$931.20. Check the RTP in the game’s info panel before you start wagering.
What the bonus buys, on these numbers, is more playing time on the same deposit. For a player who just wants a small win out quickly, turning it down keeps the deposit free of wagering.
Bonus balance rules worth knowing
- Declining is allowed. Vegastars’ promotions FAQ says you can turn the bonus down and play on cash with no wagering and no bonus limits.
- Cancelling mid-way is less clear. None of the pages we read explain what happens to bonus funds or bonus winnings if you cancel an active bonus. Check with live chat before you do it.
- No loyalty progress from bonus bets. Bets made with bonus balance earn no points and no VIP progress (Bonus Terms 6.4), so the NZ$8,000 in our example adds nothing to your level.
- Challenges need real money. Vegastars’ multiplier Challenges accept the main balance only; bonus balance and bonus buys don’t qualify.
- Self-exclusion switches bonuses off. Once you have self-excluded, you can’t receive bonuses or prizes (Bonus Terms 4.3).
- Withdrawals have their own conditions. The deposit must be wagered at least once, bonus winnings are capped at NZ$10,000 and identity checks have to be complete. Payout times from there are on our page on Vegastars withdrawal requirements.
Clauses 10.8 (wagering the deposit) and 11.7 (the €250 threshold) belong to the general terms, which we summarise on our Vegastars T&C page. The Bonus Terms are a separate document on Vegastars’ site.
Games that don’t count towards wagering
The exclusion list in Vegastars’ Bonus Terms is a long one. Two studios are out entirely, and for the others it names specific titles and game types.
| Provider | Excluded from bonus wagering |
|---|---|
| Wazdan | All games |
| 3 Oaks | All games |
| BGaming | Plinko, crash and dice titles such as Space XY, Dragon’s Crash and Rocket Dice, roulettes, poker tables |
| Hacksaw Gaming | Stick’Em, Dice, Twenty-One, Colors, Blocks, Wheel, Lines, Limbo, Hi-Lo, Plinko, Boxes, Coins, Mines |
| NetEnt | Dead or Alive, Codex of Fortune, Pirate’s Party, Serengeti Kings and others |
| Pragmatic Play | Spaceman, Pinup Girls, Roulette, Snakes and Ladders Megadice, Candy Jar Clusters and others |
| Evolution | Auto-Roulette, Bac Bo, Stock Market, VIP Roulette, the First Person series |
| Playtech, Spinomenal | Playtech roulettes and others; Spinomenal’s 1 Reel series |
So a Wazdan pokie such as Mighty Wild: Panther plays normally on cash, yet does nothing for your requirement while a bonus is running. Aviator is a different case. It isn’t on the list, but it still contributes 0%, because only pokies and live casino count at all. Our Vegastars slot RTP table lists the pokies that do count, with RTPs taken from the studios’ own pages.
Which NZ$ figure is the real one?
Search for the Vegastars bonus from New Zealand and you’ll find pages quoting at least nine different welcome offers: NZ$22,500 + 350 free spins; $10,000 + 400 spins; $500 + 100 spins; $1,200 + 500 spins; NZ$750 + 100 spins; NZ$1,000; US$2,000 + 50 spins; 6,000 in Australian dollars; and €2,000. Two of them put the wagering multiple below 40x.
Vegastars’ own NZ promotions page, checked 2 October 2026, carries a single offer: up to NZ$6,000 + 125 free spins over three deposits at 40x. That is the version we use throughout. When another site promises more, look at the claim step in the cashier before any money goes in.

Of the ongoing offers, only Instant Cashback comes with no wagering at all. Its rate and the weekly cashback both rise with your level; our guide to Vegastars instant cashback and the loyalty ladder has the detail. The NZ promotions page lists no standard no-deposit offer, and TG50 is the nearest thing to one.
Before 1 December: the bonus timer
Vegastars is operated from outside New Zealand and does not hold a New Zealand licence. From 1 December 2026, offshore providers that haven’t applied for one must stop serving New Zealand customers. When we last checked, on 2 October 2026, the DIA had announced no auction results, and nothing public showed whether Vegastars’ operator had taken part. The DIA’s page for players carries the current position.
On the bonus side, the date runs into the timer. A stage activated on Thursday 26 November would, under the general 5-day rule, run to Tuesday 1 December. Neither the NZ terms nor the Help Centre articles we read say what would happen to an unfinished requirement or a bonus balance if service to New Zealand stopped. We’d suggest no new stage in the last week of November, verification finished before you deposit, and cleared winnings withdrawn rather than left on the balance. 18+. Vegastars bonus FAQ
Do I need a code for the Vegastars welcome bonus?
No. You claim each of the three stages by making a qualifying deposit of NZ$20 or more and following the claim step the cashier shows at that moment. TG50, the only code on Vegastars’ NZ promotions page, is for the Telegram free spins and has nothing to do with the welcome package.
What is the smallest deposit that activates a welcome stage?
NZ$20. Vegastars’ promotion pages say new players can make their first three deposits from NZ$15, but anything under NZ$20 carries no bonus, and clause 11.4 of the general terms sets the minimum deposit at $20. To get the stage, deposit at least NZ$20.
Can I cancel a Vegastars bonus?
Turning the bonus down at the deposit step is allowed, and you then play on cash without wagering or bonus limits. For a bonus that is already active, the NZ pages we read don’t say what cancelling does to bonus funds or winnings, so ask live chat first and keep a screenshot of the answer.
Is the Instant Cashback paid in bonus money or real NZD?
Real money. Vegastars describes Instant Cashback as cash with no wagering and no code, shown in the Rewards section of your account. The percentage isn’t published and depends on your VIP level.
Can returning players get Vegastars bonus offers?
Yes. Reload and birthday bonuses aren’t listed on the NZ promotions page, but existing players get Instant Cashback, weekly cashback from the Bronze level, weekly free spins on Thursdays for eligible active players, Challenges with cash prizes and the $10,000 Pragmatic Weekly Race.
Which bonus rules matter most before claiming?
Keep bets at NZ$25 a round or less, stick to pokies that contribute (Wazdan and 3 Oaks don’t count at all) and watch the timer, since the general rule is 5 days from activation. For a withdrawal, your deposit must have been wagered at least once, and bonus winnings are capped at NZ$10,000. Any bonus above €250 is credited only after verification.
