About vegastars-casinos.nz and How We Review
Short answer: vegastars-casinos.nz is a guide to the Vegastars online casino for readers in New Zealand, edited by Hamish Dalgleish. We don’t run a casino and never take bets, money or identity documents. Every figure is dated and comes from Vegastars’ en-NZ pages, its terms (by clause), its Help Centre, the Tobique licence register or NZ government sources; brand facts were checked 2 October 2026.
This page explains who publishes our Vegastars NZ guide, where its numbers come from, how the 4.5 score is calculated and how to report a mistake. It also defines labels used across the site, such as “checked 2 October 2026” or “modelled”.
Who we are
We publish a guide to a single casino brand, Vegastars, for adults in New Zealand who want to see the offer, the payment rules and the legal position before deciding anything. Neither Vegastars nor its operator, Neptune Projects S.R.L., runs this site. We can’t open an account, change a balance, approve a withdrawal or speak for the operator. No player money passes through us. We never ask for a password, and we don’t collect identity or address documents, because verification happens inside your Vegastars account. If a message claiming to come from us asks for any of these, it is fake.
The editor
Hamish Dalgleish, Senior Casino Editor, sets the scores and signs off every update before it goes live. He also reads Vegastars’ general and bonus terms against each page that quotes them.
How we review Vegastars, starting from the withdrawal
Each page works back from the cash-out. It asks how long a NZ$ deposit takes to return as NZ$ in a New Zealand bank account, and under which conditions. The welcome package, the lobby and the loyalty ladder are judged by their effect on that route.
In practice that means finding the rules a cashier applies: 40x wagering on deposit plus bonus and a NZ$25 bet cap while a bonus runs (18+, T&Cs apply), the $50,000-a-month withdrawal cap in clause 12.6, the verification steps, and clause 12.3.2, which limits Mastercard payouts to a list of European countries that leaves out New Zealand. Late 2026 adds one more condition. From 1 December 2026, offshore providers that haven’t applied for a New Zealand licence must stop serving New Zealand customers.
Where money is involved, we do the arithmetic. For any bonus we calculate the theoretical cost of wagering: turnover × (100% − RTP). A NZ$100 first deposit brings a NZ$100 bonus and NZ$8,000 of wagering; at an RTP of 96.50% that averages out at a cost of NZ$280 across a very long series of bets. A single session can land far either side of that, and every page using the figure says so. When a date matters, we advise verifying and cashing out; no page urges anyone to play before a deadline.
Where our numbers come from
We rank sources in a fixed order. Public registers and government pages settle status, and the operator’s legal text settles the rules. Procedures and times come from the Help Centre, offer amounts from marketing pages. Player reports come last, always placed next to the published rule they test.
| Source | What we take from it | How often we re-check |
|---|---|---|
| Tobique (TGC) licence register and validator | Operator, licence type (B2C), expiry (22 August 2027), registered domains, status (VALID on 2 October 2026) | Monthly and before any licence-page update |
| Department of Internal Affairs, legislation.govt.nz | Dates and rules of the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026; for how the Act applies we follow the DIA’s guidance and Q&A | Weekly until the licence auction results are announced, then at each milestone |
| Inland Revenue (ird.govt.nz) | Tax treatment of recreational gambling winnings | Every six months |
| Vegastars general and bonus terms | Rules by clause, such as 10.8 (deposit wagered once before a withdrawal) and 16.4 (three days to dispute a settled bet) | Monthly, wording and clause numbers line by line |
| Vegastars Help Centre (42 articles) | Times and procedures: withdrawal approval in about an hour, ID checks in under five minutes on average (manual reviews up to 24 hours) | Monthly |
| Vegastars en-NZ pages | Offers and codes, loyalty levels, game counts (5,484 pokies in the lobby filter on 2 October 2026), the operator’s footer | Monthly; offer pages also when a reader reports a change |
| Game studios’ own game pages | RTP and maximum win, including lower-RTP versions | Before each RTP table update |
| Trustpilot and Casino Guru | TrustScore (3.2/5 from 368 reviews on 2 October 2026), themes of the newest reviews, complaint outcomes. Casino Guru didn’t load from our connection, so we read it through search results and say so | Monthly, with the date beside each figure |
| NZ support services | Helpline numbers and opening hours | Every three months |

When sources disagree
We print both versions and say which one we plan around. Clause 11.4 sets a $20 minimum deposit, while the NZ promotions pages allow the first three deposits from NZ$15 without a bonus, so our pages quote both. On the licence, the footer says it was issued “under the Gambling Act”, but the TGC validator names the Tobique Gaming Act 2023. The register outranks the footer. Our Vegastars legitimacy check shows how to run both lookups yourself.
Dated facts and the wording we use
Every page shows the date of its latest check. Figures that move (lobby size, Trustpilot score, register entry) also carry their own date. Fixed phrases show how firm a fact is:
- “checked 2 October 2026”: we read it ourselves that day, in the source named beside it.
- “according to the operator’s footer”: Vegastars states it, but no register we can reach confirms it, as with licence no. 0000020.
- “Vegastars says”: a claim we can’t test, such as live chat running 24/7.
- “not published”: we looked and found nothing on the pages we read.
- “reported in Trustpilot complaints”: what players describe, set beside the published time.
Modelled cases and why we label them
We have not deposited real money at Vegastars. Worked cases are built from the published terms and carry the line “Modelled on Vegastars’ published terms, checked October 2026 — not a real transaction.” Their player, Aroha K. from Tauranga, is hypothetical. Each step traces back to a clause or a Help Centre article: the NZ$100 bonus and 50 free spins, NZ$8,000 of wagering at 40x (T&Cs apply), the NZ$25 bet cap, approval in about an hour, and the bank days lost to Labour Day on 26 October. One number is invented and labelled: her NZ$420 balance after wagering, a better-than-average result. We don’t publish first-person player reviews. Players’ experiences appear only as dated summaries of public reviews.
What we can’t see from outside
We read Vegastars’ public pages without a player login, which leaves the gaps below. Each one is handled the same way on every page.
| Gap | Why it’s out of reach | How our pages handle it |
|---|---|---|
| Cashier of a logged-in NZ player | Methods offered, per-method limits and processing costs show only inside an account | We list the publicly named methods and note that the cashier shows the exact limit before you confirm. Clause 10.8 allows processing costs, so we never write “no fees” |
| Expiry of each welcome stage | Not published; the bonus terms give a general 5-day rule | We quote the general rule and point readers to the timer in their account |
| Value of a welcome free spin | Not published | No NZ$ value is given. TG50 spins are published at NZ$0.20, so those we calculate |
| Weekly Race prizes | The rules weren’t on the pages we could read | We name the race and leave the prize split out |
| Whether Neptune Projects S.R.L. applied for a NZ licence | The DIA doesn’t disclose auction participants | We write “not known” and revisit when results are announced |
| How often withdrawals run late | Only Vegastars holds the data | Published times and reported waits appear side by side, dated |
How the 4.5 score is built
Each of the eleven criteria counts for 1/11 of the total (about 9.1%) and is scored in half-point steps. The scores come to 49.5 points, and dividing by 11 gives the 4.5 used across the site.
| Criterion | Weight | Score | What we measure | Main source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Games | 1/11 | 5.0 | Catalogue size, number of studios, demo play | Lobby filter, provider pages |
| Live casino | 1/11 | 5.0 | Live suppliers, table range, branded tables | Live lobby |
| Welcome package | 1/11 | 4.5 | Headline value against the deposits needed to reach it | Welcome-bonus page |
| Bonus terms | 1/11 | 4.0 | Wagering multiple and base, bet and win caps, excluded games | Bonus terms |
| Banking for NZ | 1/11 | 4.5 | NZD wallet, methods and the payout route each leads to | Terms 5.1, 12.3; Help Centre |
| Payout speed (published) | 1/11 | 4.5 | Approval and transfer times promised in writing | Help Centre, terms 12.5 |
| Payout track record | 1/11 | 3.5 | What players report happened to their withdrawals | Trustpilot, Casino Guru |
| Support | 1/11 | 5.0 | Channels, contact routes, reported reply speed | Help Centre, Trustpilot |
| Mobile (PWA) | 1/11 | 4.5 | How the site installs and runs on a phone | Web app manifest |
| Licence & transparency | 1/11 | 4.0 | What a public register confirms and what rests on the footer alone | TGC register, terms 1.2 |
| RG tools | 1/11 | 5.0 | Limits, time-outs, self-exclusion periods | Responsible gambling policy |
Payouts appear in the table twice, once for what Vegastars commits to in writing and once for what players report happened to their withdrawals. Separate rows stop either one from covering for the other. The evidence behind each score is on our Vegastars rating page. What would move a score:
- Licence & transparency: re-scored when the DIA names auction winners or departing brands, and again after 1 December 2026.
- Payout track record: updated each month from the newest Trustpilot reviews and Casino Guru outcomes.
- Bonus terms, Welcome package: revised if the 40x multiple, the NZ$25 bet cap, the NZ$10,000 win cap or the list of excluded studios changes.
- Banking for NZ: re-scored if the terms add New Zealand to Mastercard payouts, or if a reader’s cashier screenshot settles whether POLi works.
Updates and corrections
When Vegastars changes an offer or a clause, the figure, its clause reference and the page date are updated at the same time, and modelled cases are recalculated with the same formulas. If an offer or code disappears, we mark it as gone and note the date we spotted the change. Before any update goes live we re-check six things: the DIA’s pages for auction results, the TGC validator and register, the Trustpilot score on the profile itself, RTP figures against studio pages, the TG50 offer page and the POLi listing, and the pokies count in the lobby filter.
New Zealand dates we plan around
Vegastars is operated from outside New Zealand and does not hold a New Zealand licence. No online casino holds one yet: under the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026, the Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) expects to start issuing up to 15 licences from early 2027. Our page on the DIA licensing timeline covers the law itself. The table below shows what each date sets off on this site.
| Date | What happens | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Auction results (started 29 September 2026; none at our 2 October check) | The DIA has said it will announce the outcome publicly | Rewrite status lines on the home, legal, withdrawal and bonus pages |
| 1 December 2026 | Providers that haven’t applied for a licence must stop serving New Zealand | Check whether Vegastars still accepts NZ players; update every page that depends on it |
| Early 2027 | First licences and a public register of licensed online casinos | Add the register to our checks |
| 1 June 2027 | Latest date an applicant awaiting a decision can keep serving New Zealand | Final check of transitional status |
Corrections
To report an error, send the page address, the line that looks wrong and where you saw the other version; a screenshot helps. Nothing changes until we have checked the report against the source. If a correction alters a number a reader could have acted on, such as a payout time or a bonus condition, the page carries a short dated note explaining what changed. Where our page and Vegastars’ current terms differ, the operator’s terms apply, as our site disclaimer explains.

Our position on gambling harm
This site is for adults, and Vegastars accepts players from 18. Casino games carry a house edge, so our bonus pages show the NZ$ cost of wagering next to the headline value. Vegastars offers deposit, loss and wager limits, time-outs from one day to three months and self-exclusion from three months to permanent. ANZ, Westpac and Kiwibank let customers block gambling payments. New Zealand has no national self-exclusion register for online gambling yet. Our page on gambling help in NZ gathers the tools and services, including the Problem Gambling Foundation (0800 664 262, Mon–Fri 8.30am–5pm), Mapu Maia (0800 21 21 22) and the Asian Helpline (0800 862 342, Mon–Fri 9am–8pm).

FAQ about vegastars-casinos.nz
Is this the Vegastars website?
No. The casino itself runs at vegastars12.com, and vegastars.com redirects there; its Help Centre tells players to “Only trust vegastars12.com”. vegastars-casinos.nz is a guide about the casino. It holds no accounts and will never ask for your Vegastars password.
Can you help with a problem in my Vegastars account?
No. The operator handles deposits, bonuses, verification and withdrawals, so contact Vegastars’ live chat or [email protected]. Formal complaints go to [email protected] and, if they remain unresolved, to EGIS FZCO, the dispute service named in its terms. A bet dispute has to be raised within three days of settlement (clause 16.4).
